What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is pretty much Invisible Braces. It is an orthodontic method that uses clear aligners (like retainers) to straighten teeth. They are invisible, more comfortable than braces, and are also removable. This allows you to eat and drink what you want, and brush your teeth and floss, without having to deal with brackets and wires. How does Invisalign work?
Depending on your treatment plan, you may need to get “buttons” put onto your teeth to help guide the aligners and get the best results. These buttons are specific and precisely placed tooth coloured attachments (made of tooth coloured filling material, so they are still invisible) that fit perfectly into your aligners. Using the Invisalign process, you will need to wear a set of aligners for two weeks, before switching to the next set. The aligners are designed to gradually straighten out your teeth, and by the time you are done with the final aligner, your teeth should be straightened. Like with the traditional braces, retainers should be worn after the teeth have been straightened, to prevent them going back to their previous position.
